[Artemisia] Fwd: [Announcements] Newsletter Production Stipends

Having held the Kingdom Chroniclers office for many years, I for one
am glad to see this starting to take place. Many times while in
office, I had individuals tell me they did not get a copy of their
newsletter. With the return address being Milpitas, there was nothing
I could do to get them a current copy other than paying for one to be
printed and sent out of pocket because at the time, sending an
electronic copy was not allowed and a violation of the office.
I know I often times like the paper copy because I can make notes on
and have it handy rather than having to turn on a computer, but at the
same time, it really does bother me because it is not helping the
environment even if I place it in recycling.
The stipend, during the time I was in office, barely covered the costs
and when I asked the question, what happens if we go over because the
economy changes, where does the extra money come from... the answer
was, it comes from YOUR Kingdoms funds so start fund raising.
Eeeekkk. Ya.... no way was I gonna ask for emergency cash to get the
newsletter printed or another fundraiser so I found a different
printer and made it work. Long story short... if the stipend is
going to be cut, allowing electronic copies may allow for more updated
information, staying within budget as well as ensured delivery.
