Ha. I know where Ekalaka is. I also taught in Montana, earlier in my career. Welcome to the kingdom.

Subject: Re: [Artemisia] sumptuary question
Because of the relatively small size of Western Seas, and because it is a
alatine barony, it was not traditional for winners to be named a court
aron/baroness when they stepped down for fear that the islands would be filled
ith barons and baronesses, though most of those competing were the same 6-8
eople every time. They received the local award of keeper of the baronial
abel, which confers the right to wear the barony's device upon the clothing,
imilar, I think, to the mantle device here in Artemisia. I am mostly just
rying to find the 'correct' way to display what I have earned, learn who I am
ccording to local custom and to determine what those customs are.
To answer your other question, I currently reside in Ekalaka, where I teach high
school, and have made e-mail contact with the Incipent Shire of Drachenfeld as
t is a mere 108 miles away, less than half the distance to Bronzehelm. I'm
ooking forward to meeting them all as soon as the weather clears up. :-)
