[Artemisia] Coronation Archery

Archers of the Realm: 

  

The gods have looked favorably upon the Coronation of the Most-Royal Heirs!  They wish to see the prowess of the mighty Artemisian Archers.  But, you must go to them!  You have been transported to ancient Greece to meet the challenge.  Shoot well and come home alive! 

  

Each archer most have his or her own equipment.  6 arrows minimum.  I recommend you bring 8 to 10. 

  



Circe’s Pigs 




Odysseus’ crew has been turned into pigs.   Hunt them down. 



3 pigs at different ranges.   You may shoot six arrows total at any or all targets.   Scoring is different for each target.

Four Harpies are attacking.   Hit them to drive them off. 



Six arrows.   Hit the Harpy anywhere for 5 points. You may only score on each Harpy once.   Hit all 4 for a bonus 5 points.

Hydra 





Jason has met with a 4-Headed Hydra.   Shoot six arrows at it.   You can hurt the Hydra by hitting the body (1 point).   But to kill you must hit the heads (5 points each).   You may only score on each head once.   Hit all 4 heads and kill the Hydra (bonus 5 points).

Dragons! 



Zeus has sent dragons to chase you off.   Run away! But shoot while you are escaping! 



Start at the first dragon, arrow or bolt in the quiver (crossbow may be cocked).   When time begins, run to the second dragon, turn and shoot the first.   Run to the line. Turn and shoot as many arrows as you can at the second dragon.   You only have 30 seconds, so run fast and shoot fast or you will be a dragon snack!

Odysseus’ Axes 



Odysseus did not much care for you hunting down his crew when they were pigs.   He has challenged you to his idea of shooting! 



For 30 seconds, shoot through 3 axe heads and hit the target.   Each arrow must pass through all three axe heads to count.   Standard scoring on the target (1 through 5 points).
