A few notes for those that are planning on attending the Crown Tournament:
Cellphone service is limited. I can't say what company will have
coverage and which will not, but assume you won't have coverage and plan
accordingly. However, you don't have to drive very far back toward
Pocatello before you get coverage again.
While the days will be very pleasant, the temperature will drop significantly at night. Please pack accordingly.
Google maps will lead you to the site by entering the address "3248 S
Mink Creek Rd, Pocatello, ID 83204" in the "Get Directions" option of
that website. It is best if you pretend you are coming from the North or
South (such as Salt Lake or Idaho Falls) since Google Maps likes to try
and route people from the West ( such as Boise and Twin Falls) through
Pocatello, which is NOT the best route. The best route is to stick to
the freeway as much as possible until exiting at exit 63 off I-15. After leaving the freeway when driving to the site, keep an eye out for brown signs with white lettering indicating "Mink Creek Recreation Area." Following these signs will lead you directly to the site.
There will be a firepit, which we will use both Friday and Saturday night.
The site opens at 2pm on Friday, September 30th. Please do not arrive early.
The site closes at Noon on Sunday, October 2nd. Please be off site by this time.
There are deer and other animals around the area, please be careful when
driving around the site area at night, as these deer will occasionally
be in the road.
There are many picnic tables at the site, but otherwise seating is very limited. Please bring camp chairs.
I have requested group rates from a variety of hotels in the area if you do not wish to camp. Please CALL AHEAD FOR RESERVATIONS and please be sure to mention that you are requesting a group rate with the SCA. You might need to say "Society for Creative Anachronism" to be safe.

Please repost this on any and all local SCA group lists, and share this
information with people not on the Aerie or without web access.
Thank you very much,
