[Artemisia] Event report from Fall Crown Tourney 2012

Greetings unto the Populace of Artemisia!



On the 6th day of October A.S. 47,being 2012 in the Common Era, in the
Shire of Bronzehelm was held the 32nd Crown Tourney for the Kingdom of
Artemisia. The morning court was heralded by Acting Golden Crown Herald,
Lord Takeyama Nakayoshi with words from the event steward. After that came
the procession of the fighters for the Crown Tourney. When TE Til the Lucky
and HE Isabeau came forward to be presented, Their Majesties spoke a few
words to Sir Til, but informed him that it would not be all about him
today. They turned and spoke to her, calling forth the Order of the Pelican
and placed her on day vigil to contemplate her answer. Their Majesties did
give her leave to watch the fighting as her husband was fighting for her.



The fighting was done in two pools with round robin fights and two from
each pool went to the semi finals and final. In the Semi finals where Lord
Dunkrv vs. Sir Ravan & Sir Yuri vs. Count Daman; the two standing after the
semi finals were Sir Raven and Count Daman. After a small break for the
fighters to be called forth and made ready it went to three out of three
fights, where Count Daman bested Sir Raven to become Crown Prince Daman
with his consort Crown Princess Veronique, both from the Shire of
Bronzehelm.



Evening court was done in conjunction with feast to shorten what could have
otherwise been a very long evening. THL Sine Fergusson of Kintyre was the
Acting Golden Crown Herald for Their Majesties for evening court. HE
Isabeau was called forth by Their Majesties with the Order of the Pelican
providing escort, where she gave her answer to the affirmative. His
Highness Daman spoke for the Royal Peers, HE Sir Kian spoke for the
Laurels, Sir Dannu spoke for the Chivalry and HL Thorkatla spoke on behalf
of the populace with HE Shauna speaking for the Pelicans for the Five
Worthies ceremonial that was then done.



Other awards given throughout the evening court are as follows:



Lord William Thorsson from Silver Keep was Awarded Arms

Lord Auletes from Silver Keep was Awarded Arms

THL Killian Calway from Bronzehelm was inducted into the Order of the
Defender of the Citadel

THL Damhan M’Kynnes from Castelleone Nuovo was inducted into the Order of
the Key Cross

THL Aurildis of Trier from Castelleone Nuovo was inducted into the Order of
the Golden Sun and Splendor



Mixed in with the bestowing of awards were other items of business from the
event. An iron raffle was held, the best soup challenge was won by m’Lady
Johanna of Bronzehelm, along with words and thank-yous from the event and
feast stewards. As well, the contest for the new Bard of Artemisia was
held. The newest Bard of Artemisia is Don Albion Robynsson. It as announced
that from this point onward that the Bard of Artemisia will be chosen at
Kingdom Arts & Sciences Competition and will be for a term of one year as
all other Kingdom Champions are. Gifts and largess from the populace were
presented at various times during the feast, with the Shire of Silver Keep
paying taxes to the Crown of 200 gold pieces with the announcement made
that the ‘check is in the mail’ to the Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer.



The one item of business that was not carried out at Crown Tourney was the
bestowing of the Shield of Chivalry. Their Majesties have said it will be
carried out at Kingdom Collegium in the Barony of Loch Salann.
