Hello All,
I wanted to relate the news of the Equestrian activities at Uprising. First and foremost, we had a great time! People were able to learn new skills, practice existing skills, and get to play with others from across the Kingdom.
The Kingdom Equestrian Championship involved many skill at arms in a continuous course. These included quintain, rings, javelin, tent pegging, carrot and cabbage chopping, and overall rider/horse cooperation. At the end of the course, Lord Ruger emerged the Champion! Vivat! The course was hard fought, with hardly a point between the contestants.
Following the Equestrian Championship, the Kingdom Jousting Tournament was held. Three contestants vied, with Lady Nessa as a Bye Rider, for the Title of Jousting Champion. A round robin tournament was held, with 3 passes per match. The skill level was extraordinary, with one pass having the riders strike lance tip to lance tip! Again, the skills were so evenly matched that only a point separated the victor from his rivals. The victor, and new Kingdom Jousting Champion is Count Ronin. Congratulations to His Excellency for a hard fought win!
Lady Nessa, who served as both Kingdom Equestrian and Jousting Champion put on a fine competition, and demonstrated her skill at arms and horsemanship skills.
As a final treat, Count Ronin, Sir Brian, and Lord Ruger put on a display of wood tipped jousting. Each breaking several lances on their worthy opponent. A great time was had, and the spectators were able to enjoy a great display of skill.
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Equestrian activities at any level. It takes a lot of work to put on such a show. Many, MANY, long hours of training prior to the competition were put in. Thanks to all for making the Uprising Equestrian activities a great success.
Alan, Artemisian Equestrain Officer
