<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>I have been following the discussion about LoR and lack of rewards and have decided to add my 2 cents worth.</DIV>
<DIV>When I first started in the Society, our group was notorious for not receiving awards. They also didn't travel, were having some "organizational difficulties" and were generally not known for their good works. Once they got it together, rewards came quickly and often. There were many good folk who were overshadowed by the few that had fallen from grace and it took a little time to recognize all the deserving ones. Letters of Reccomendation DO work. I know; not a few of us suffered from chronic writers' cramp.</DIV>
<DIV>I do know that there are many who have worked hard and long and may be missing out on a specific award that (they) feel they deserve. It is however, often not one person's decision, but a group one. I feel that the analogy of "Melvin" is quite appropriate. Please remember, what you put into writing is virtually Permanent. Didn't anyone else's elders implore them Not to Put in Writing anything that could come back and bite them? A written statement is admissable in court as evidence! If you insist on writing the unvarnished Truth (as you see it), you must expect splinters. Tact and gentle truth are as effective and less apt to come back and bite. Remember. we were advised to look at the archives to note that one Gentle has never set a coarse or unkindly sentiment in print. Whether or not (and I doubt she has) this person has ever uttered such a thing is immaterial, heresay is not admissable. Be careful what you set in print - it is forever, and will be cited 2 years after that!</DIV>
<DIV>Many who claim adherance to Truth are merely cloaking anger or resentment in a gaudy coat. Be sure that what you say/write is not just venting and is truly necessary to be expressed. My experience is that those who are most prone to venting are the ones least aware of their propensitity to alienate others. </DIV>
<DIV>I know that some people are still trying to live down an old, negative self-portrait. It can be the hardest thing in the World to do. I caution all who are in a position to pass judgement to be certain that the most current information is what is being considered so that even one who has sinned will not be condemned for past and paid debts.</DIV>
<DIV>I believe that Artemesia is feeling growing pains as it has in the past (if not in numbers, then in wisdom) and will overcome this too. If everyone can go past old hurts and perceived slights to work together for the good of the Dream, the whole Society can benefit from the lessons Artemesia learns and passes on.</DIV>
<DIV>Although I have my keep in Trimaris, My Heart will always be with my Original Kingdom - ARTEMESIA forever!!</DIV>
