Its arms....a purple field with a gold Cross of Calantrava encircled by gold laurel leaves....The cross is on most Calontir awards and the Grant level award for service is know as the Order of the Cross of Calontir..... I do find it quite interesting that we as a re-enactment group fear or choose to ignore something that was a basic part of everyday life for quite a large number of people.....I guess in these modern middle ages one can never be quite pc enough not to ruffle those all to delicate feathers. I don't know why really open minded people always seem to be the people whom get offended first and the most.....Isn't life wonderful....?</DIV>

I believe it is a way for people to flesh out their personas. After all, many people have Christian personas. I think to say "you can't use a cross" is foolish, as long as you are talking about individuals. Groups are another story.<BR><BR>Which brings me to an interesting question.<BR><BR>How do you all feel about the fact that the Kingdom Grant Level Arts award is called the Order of the Key Cross (since the original Sable Keys in Cross was unregisterable)? The key cross is one heraldic representation of the cross.<BR><BR>Opinions? Not that it will change things, but I am curious.
