Missoula Public Library has a book that might interest you, Conrad. 
You can order it through interlibrary loan at your local library.  Our book 
is: The Story of silk, by  William F. Leggett.  Lifetime Editions, 1949.  
The author  goes over the history of silk and then has chapters on silk 
in Rome, Byzantium, Sicily, Italy, Spain, France, etc.  The author has 
included a bibliography that has basic information, author, title, place of 
publication and year.
