Just a thought concerning the upcoming Arts & Sciences Display.

As mentioned earlier and by others, one of the most beautiful forms of the
Arts in our kingdom is traditionally viewed quickly in the middle of a court
and then given to some one else. It often ends up on a wall of some ones home
where it can inspire and be admired by a few. And it sometimes ends up in a
folder waiting for a proper display. But it never gets viewed again. I
speak, of course, of the many and different scrolls created by our marvelous
scribes and awarded throughout the year.

I know that I have several scrolls that would deserve a second look by the
members of the kingdom, not because I am proud of the reason for the awarding
(though I am) but because they are unique and beautiful in their own right.

So, the thought. Since this is a display and not a competition as such,
would it not be interesting to invite those attending to bring with them the
favorite scroll that they have received. These could be displayed in a separate
area and people could see both the beauty and the diversity of the skills of
our kingdom scribes. In addition, having people bring their choice for the
favorite scroll they have received would help the kingdom scribes to know
what types of scrolls, hands, decor, etc the members of the kingdom prefer. It
could be helpful and educational on all sides.

Anyway, it was a thought that has been rolling about my head so I thought I
would toss it out and see what others think about it.
