Greetings,

I truly enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun. It took about fifteen years of the crusades and mishmashed them altogether and sort of fudged the main players around a little. But it was fun nonetheless.

Overall, I give it high marks for authenticity, for 'moral lessons' (applicable even today).

I was less than impressed by some of the character development (of course, they were pushing a lot of timeline into two hours, so you have to fudge where you can.

I think the choppy battle scenes are so you don't have to actually have a cast of thousands swinging swords at each other. Makes movie insurers nervous is my bet.

But I don't like them as much either.

I enjoyed it enough to recommend it. I thought the view of Knighthood was more 'pure' than 'perfect'. At least in my opinion. It really struck a chord with me. Very Arthurian.

Has any one seen "The Kingdom of Heaven" movie? What are your thoughts
about it?
I thought the costuming and armor were very credible. While the battle
scenes were very intense, I felt they were too fragmented. The storyline
was pretty vague, with no real character development. I think the director
concentrated too much on trying to create an "epic" feel. It seems to me
that Balian would have been more believable in his portrayal of the perfect
knight if he had not succumbed to Sibylla's seduction.
Overall it was an entertaining film. I'd give it three stars out of five.
Landolf
