Indeed, I think the theme of such an activity would be to share fun songs to
sing in the car and drive your parents crazy.

"there's a booger in the sugar"
"Menomenah"

-Braden (who now has 1/2 of Artemisia sitting at their computer singing
"Menomenah. Do-do-do-do-do")

Ya know, there is at least two songs, that I believe are period or at least
have a period flavor that would go well with a chocolate milk/root beer
non-alcholic roasting over a campfire... type party....

Shaking of the sheets
Banks of the Vergio

Both of which are fun to sing. I'm sure there are many others. Use it as a
time to teach??????

His Grace, Duke Alan may be having the last laugh yet, seeing that I
have a well-baked case of callig-shoulder, my arm and fingers are
covered in burn gel and band-aides from the spills of molten peep-goo
that have taken control of my kitchen - and worse yet - my sealing
  wax pot.

And I was going to try a new recipe for medieval sealing wax today...

  ***SIGH***

I may have to get a new wax pot.

It was really really really hard not to bust up laughing at the
feast. El Hermoso Dormiendo (who, true to his name, was still in bed
at 10:30 when I left for the event site - and who didn't arrive until
after 1 pm - wish I could have slept in too...) found these
telescoping forks somewhere in downtown San Luis Obispo (where his
folks live). He brought them to the feast. So there we were,
toasting marshmallow peeps impalled on the ends of our fully-extended
telescoping forks over Viscountess Lynn's candles when Alan's 4-year-
old grabs a peep, sticks it on his fork and tries to do the same.
And of course, the evyl Demon-Queen of Artemisia commanded one of our
forks to be brought to her so she could toast her own marshmallow
  peep over a candle.

It was really really really really hard not to lose it at that point,
in the middle of a peep-filled two days, but I knew more Alan torture
was just around the corner and so I was able to restrain myself for a
  little while longer...

You know, El Hermoso Dormiendo and I were in the middle of our Sunday
afternoon joy ride today when it occurred to both of us that we could
propose a new family activity for the evenings at Uprising.
Chocolate Milk and Root Beer tastings for all (drunk people not
allowed), fun family-oriented sing-alongs with all those great kid
songs we all remember from way back when ("great green gobs of greasy
grimy........") and toasting peeps over the campfire for kids of all
ages. Yah, sure, it's not exactly period but it would be fun -
  especially the peep toasting!
