[Artemisia] Event Emergency

Indeed; I was a part of that... entertainment :-)

To certain extent, such things are generally handled by the event's
autocrat, the local seneschal, and the chirurgeon-in-charge for the event.
It's hard to make concrete policies, because the size & nearness of
emergency services varies so widely - such things are, AFAIK, done on an
event-by-event system. As for communications, many people have those little
hand-held walkie-talkies, and most events that I've seen above a modest size
make use of them - Uprising did, but our last Raptor War didn't. Of course,
one could pretty much holler from one end of Raptor to the other; hence the
lack of necessity. And something huge like Estrella definitely does. And
there generally are channels agreed for use by specific communities, like
sheriffs, chirurgeons, event coordinators, etc., with some channels left
open for 'public' use i.e., other campers using them to keep in touch at the
event. That's kind of rambling, but it's late, and I hope it helps...

yis,
Gomez de Santander
