[Artemisia] Smalls and language

It is interesting to me to see that this discussion references the earlier one, regarding wasters, swords, boffers, or whatever terms may be?gauche at this moment.

Personally, I don't care what term a person chooses to use, as long as others, when it is necessary, are not confused by what is meant.?? We in Arrows' Flight, for instance, now refer to our children in plural as the Wrack (which refers to a collection of baby rabbits), little Pictsies, the Pictsie HorDe, and various other terms, some complimentary, some not, some period, some not.

My objection, now as before, is if someone tells me I CANNOT use a term, because some unknown somewhere might be offended.

I sometimes call my children kids, even though they are not little goats.
I sometimes call my children lambs, even though they are not little sheep.
I sometimes call them rats, rug or other, even though they are not rodents.
I have referred to them as Yard-Apes, even though they are Homo sapiens
I have also called them Beloved, because despite what term I might otherwise use, they are always that...
