Actually, yes, I was told to no longer use the term "boffer".   



And my remarks regarding cowardice were not directed at any persons in particular, and certainly not directed at those who may disagree with me.   At least those who disagree are taking a position.   I was referring to those who do nothing, and hope it all goes away.

I did, however, accuse Yumitori of missing my point.

I apologize if my poor use of the vernacular seemed to be directed at either you, Belladonna, or Yumitori.   When I specifically mean to target individuals, I do so by name.   There will be no misunderstandings, in such cases.

I understand your argument, truly I do. It's the same one I use about  
irport security and my 4th amendment rights. You need to take a  
tand early to avoid having a small trampling of your rights escalate  
nto your having no rights at all. However, no one has told you you  
an't say "boffer." Organizations change their official names for  
hings all the time. It doesn't mean people can't continue using the  
nofficial ones until they pass out of the lexicon and no one  
nderstands them anymore. At the very worst, if you chose to write an  
rticle for an official SCA publication, they might edit out the word  
offer if you used it. You could choose not to allow them to publish it.
Accusing us of cowardice for disagreeing with you is unjust.  
ertainly, I think Yumitori has proved that he is easily brave enough  
o say whatever he feels needs to be said. I hope I have, too. We  
imply don't feel that the same things need to be said that you do.
