 >Rapier Practicum in Starkhafn-March 31-April 1, 2007
 >The Starkhafn School of Defense will be offering a Rapier Practicum on
 >March
 >31 and April 1, 2007 in Starkhafn. The Practicum will be held at the
Nevada
 >State Museum and Historical Society in Lorenzi Park, 700 Twin Lakes
Drive,
 >Las
 >Vegas, Nevada, 89107. The site will open at 8:00 Saturday morning and
close
 >at
 >5:00, followed immediately by a Social evening at the Museum. The site
will
 >open again at 8:00 on Sunday morning, with classes running until 2:00.
 >Heavy
 >weapons fighters are welcome to bring armor and participate in
classes;
 >there
 >will be several classes that apply to both disciplines.
 >
 >Activities will include lab and field time on subjects being taught,
plus
 >an
 >all day Accolade Tournament. Instructors will cover materials in
class,
 >followed by field time to practice in combat situations.
 >
 >Classes for the Practicum include:
 >~Practical Targetier: Marozzo's Shieldwork for SCA Rapier Combat;
 >~Capework of the Italian Masters
 >~Saviolo's Rapier and Dagger.
 >~Basic Intro to Sidesword.
 >~Capo Ferro and Tactical Fencing
 >~Fighting the Left Handed, from the works of Pallas Armata and
Vincentio

 >Plus Master Nicollo will be on hand to lead non-combatants in dance

 >throughout the day.

 >A mere $10 (plus $3 non-member surcharge) gets you this weekend of
rapier
 >classes with renowned instructors from throughout the Known World,

 >appetizer revel on Saturday, an Accolades Tourney, Italian Court

park

 >either the upper lot or continue around the museum to the lower

 >can also just continue on Valley View to where it tees into Washington

 >take a right there. The next right will lead you to the park.
