PLEASE CROSS-POST TO ALL WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED!

The highlight of the winter season draws near . . . Solstice Court is shaping up to be a grand event!

There will be an A & S Competition at Solstice Court. In support of the "persona revel" theme, the A & S Competition will be "All Things Heraldic." All entries must contain at least one of the following: personal, household, order, baronial or kingdom arms or device. The arms or device must be integral part of the object, not something added as an afterthought. Works in progress are welcome. Documentation is required and should be at least one page in length, providing the basic information at about the entry. (More complete documentation may be submitted if desired.) The documentation must provide information on the object, not the heraldry. No documentation for the heraldry is required. For example, if an artisan enters a shield covered with leather with his personal arms tooled, embossed or painted on it, his documentation need only document the leather covered shield and method of decoration, not his arms. Prizes will be awarded.

Entries must be submitted by 11:30 am. Entries will be on display for the populace in the afternoon.

Lord Karl of Arrow's Flight will be holding a Chess Tournament, with a beautiful hand-made prize for the winner. In order to allow as much time as possible for the tournament, Lord Karl would like to begin at 11 am. If you wish to participate please plan on being at the event no later than 11 am. There will be a sign-up sheet at Troll. Participants are invited to bring their own chess sets, if desired.

Count Ralph Bigod will be holding a Persona Roundtable for all who are interested. It will be held in the afternoon, so as not to conflict with Sir Timmur's White Scarf Prize Tournament. There will be a sign-up sheet at Troll.

Open Gaming will also be held at Solstice. Members of the populace are invited to bring their favorite period (or period-like) game and set up for play. Gentles willing to teach their game to others will be greatly appreciated.

Please contact Lady Anna de Brabant if you have any questions.
