I actually don't know if that particular issue has ever come up. I know 
not in Atenveldt/Artemisia (OK I am dating myself here).  I don't have 
an answer for you on that one. My first gut reaction would be that 
Society would say no, but then it's not written anywhere either. 
Hmmm....now that sounds like a question to bring up at the next Society 
Seneschal's meeting. ;)

There is no requirement that a barony has to have a couple (married or 
otherwise). It only has to be a person or couple that the group agrees 
to support. There have been many examples here in Artemisia of single 
landed barons/esses.
