TheMistress Constance de la Rose Medieval Iron Chef
CookingCompetition at Uprising XXVIII
 
The purpose of this Competition is topromote interest in foods and cookery of the "period" prior to 1600AD; to promote period cooking within Artemisia through a fun and friendlycompetition.
 
This yearscompetition will be based on
An Anonymous Andalusian Cookbook from the 13thCentury

Bea part of the Populace Tasting Committee! Taste and vote on your favorites.
The Tasting Committee gets totaste everything and vote for their favorite to be name the Populace choice,which will be announced in court and a prize awarded. Seats for the tasting Committee will beavailable on a first come, first served basis from the Competition Coordinator;Meistres Gwynnyth. The tickets will be $10 and are well worth thecost. Committee members need to supply their own feast gear.

Complete rules anddetails are in the  February Sage Adviceor by contacting the Steward
·              Competition shall bebetween teams of 2-6 people. ALL team members will be able to contribute in anyway the team sees fit. There is no scullery only requirement this year.
·              There will be aMaximum of Four (4) teams.  CURRENTLYTHREE TEAMS
·              All teams mustpre-register with the Iron Chef Steward, Meistres Gwynnyth prior to May 15,2014 and pay a $20 entry fee. TIME IS ALMOST UP!
·              The competition willbe held on Thursday, at Uprising 28.
·              Teams will prepare amedieval feast sufficient to provide adequate tasting portions for about 15people based upon An AnonymousAndalusian Cookbook from the 13th Century, translated by CharlesPerry. The version online free, linked here
