Greetings to everyone!

We have two new members, and they are now on this mailing list. Looking
forward to having them round out our string sections!

We worked on the Carnival of the Animals pieces last night and also on
the Pictures at an Exhibition. It was decided that two sections of the
Pictures - the Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks and The Hut of Baga Yaga -
were probably a bit too difficult to get to a performance level in time
for Jan 24th, when we well be playing for the Head Start 3 and 4 year
olds and their families. So, we will do the rest of the sections and
just skip those two.

We also worked on Thunder and Lightning Polka, Radestky March and Eine
Kleine Nachtmusik, with Radetsky March sounding pretty rough. This
coming week, we'll work on the Polka and Eine Kleine and probably see if
Best of Bach, La Rejoussaince, A Cheerful Earful and maybe Fanfare
Rondeau (The last two we did last fall so those should be pretty fresh
in our minds) will be doable. If you have the music at home, please
bring as many of these as you can - we will of course have the copier at
rehearsal, but the more music folks have on their own, the faster we can
work on pieces.

For those who are not joining us until after the Head Start concert,
please consider what sort of music you would like to work on for our
Spring concert. The centerpiece will be the piece for two oboes that
Julie M and her teacher will be doing, but we want to play more than
just one thing for Spring. I'll be trying to get a Music Committee
meeting scheduled before the end of January, and would appreciate all
input before that.

See everyone next Thursday!
