 >>>> For a badge.... how about a sheep and combs? That really puts the
emphasis on preparation and the source of fiber. Just a thought!

Sheep are really cute and I think if we only have one charge on our
badge a sheep would be good... but if there are two or more charges,
could one of them please be a non-wool-specific thing? I've seen
heraldic depictions of flax breaks, and weaving shuttles, and drop
spindles, all of which are non-wool-specific.

As far as the current guilds being region-specific, all of the guilds
attempt to hold meetings in all regions but if they don't get someone to
step forward in a given region and volunteer for anything, the
activities in that region die out. Any given guildmaster or mistress can
only make it to so many events due to time, travel, and money
restrictions and would be thrilled to have someone in another area of
the Kingdom help them out. So if you're feeling like you'd like to see
this guild or any other guild take off in your region, all you have to
do is contact the Guild leaders, say you're organizing a Guild meeting
at X event, and do they have anything specific they'd like you to
discuss?

There are also some nasty historical reasons why guilds don't tend to
catch on in certain areas, but those of you who are newer don't need to
pay any attention. Get involved in a Guild yourself and you can make
your own decisions on whether having a Kingdom Guild is a good thing or
not.

There is also an email list/support group for Guild leaders... if a
couple of people from this group would like to be put on that list, even
before any formal choosing of leaders takes place, I'm sure you'd be
welcome.
