ooh, had one more thought - not sure how this would go
over, but it would be a way to raise funds. Maybe the guild
could have a table in the merchants section of various
events, to sell members work for them?  A small fee would
be taken out of any sale, to raise funds.  And they could
have the register of makers marks at the booth, so that if
someone really likes a piece of work they can get the info
to contact the artisan to commission a project. Could
double as an informational distribution point for the guild
as well.
