Thank you for posting this, Sabine. I literally hadn't had time to look at this until today!

Novice Schola went well yesterday, and Lyle had 5 students for his bookbinding class.

The workshop next weekend looks like it will have 6 students.

Cheers
Elwynne

  Bonjour mes amis!

Two items I thought might be of interest -- one workshop and one book.

On a related front, we have just received a copy of "Pen in hand:
medieval scribal portraits, colophons and tools," edited by Michael
Gullick, published in 2006 by the Red Gull Press (2 Clay End,
Walkern, Herts SG2 7JB), with contributions by Andrea Budgey, Ewan
Clayton, Richard Gameson, Michael Michael, Randall A. Rosenfeld,
Kathleen Scott, Elizabeth Sears, John C. Sharpe, and (notably) by
    Gullick himself.
This important book is a companion to the Anderson-Lovelace (L.
    L. Brownrigg) series that includes "Medieval Book Production:
Assessing the Evidence" (1990), "Medieval Manuscripts of the Latin
Classics" (1995), and "Interpreting and Collecting Fragments of
    Medieval Books" (2000).
