[Sca-librarians] Barcodes on the OUTSIDE of books

I know circ prefers them on the back so they don't have to flip around the book. To me, this makes sense saving wear & tear on the book.
We use mylar depending on the book's binding material.

When we were first barcoding book at the University of Tulsa we put them on the outside with a mylar protector.  Maybe they can tell you if it is still done that way and how they have held up.  Everyplace I've worked since (20+ years) has put them primarily on the inside.
