[Artemisia] Event Emergency

My response was to the efficiency of the radio usage and the
communication channels that facilitated the handling of the emergency.
It was very efficiently done and there was little chatter that
impeded it ont eh radios.
The reason that I mentioned the viability of predetermining a security
channel is that I have been to many events that have used radios.
Unfortunately the vast majority have had all of the support staff
using the same channel. While this is convenient for Autocrats to get
bulletins to everyone at one time, it tends to create a lot of cross
talk and chatter that impedes emergency and/or security
communications. Now, speaking from a security stand point, if there
was an incident that required the security staff's attention and it
was intertmixed with questions pertaining to when the feast will be
ready and who the relief is for reeve's point it may easily be missed.
The second reason that I mentioned the need for predetermined and
specified channels is the same one that Lady Syeria touched on. If
there is a cahnnel specifically for security/emergencies it can be
posted at reeve's point or in the write up for the event.
A better idea would be to have a kingdom standard, that way it could
be posted in kingdom newsletters. This would allow any
medical/emergency personel present at the event to be in on the loop.
Thus if we have an MD at the event they would know if their services
were needed, provided that they had a private radio. It would also
allow members of the constabulary to be aware of potential situations
that they may need to volunteer their services to remedy, such as
crowd control in an emergency.
I am sorry that I wasn't as specific in my original posting, I was
just a little tired and not as verbose as normal.
Yours in Service to the Dream,

While the young lady who had the syncopal event was attended by mundane medical personnell (myself included), it was my lady wife who noticed the young lady's distress and insisted that I see her. With few exceptions no one at the event knew that I was a physician and I did not sign in as such at the troll. (BTW, I must give kudos to all who attended the lady as well as His Grace Duke Alan who quickly and effectively organized the Chivalry as a crowd control organization).

I understand that the purpose of the chiurgeonate is not to be treating physicians but the lack of any tools was surprising and after this event we at Arn Hold made a significant investment in a modern kit for our Chiurgeon to have at events that he/she might attend.

Every venue that has athletic activity should have a defibrillator - the modern ones are safe and effective in the treatment of ventricular arrhythmias. I was made to understand that one is not provided due to perceived liability, but my thinking is that having a defibrillator for a major event falls within the ambit of things that ought to be done. The window of time for successful defibrillation does not permit the 20-30 minute delay that we experienced at Uprising for the EMTs to show up and if the case had been a true cardiac emergency it would have been finis for the unfortunate so involved.
