Does anyone know how to kill thousands of hoppers without using some nasty poison?!!

Seriously, have you ever considered getting a goose?  They eat all the nasty insects, make great guard pets, and in the spring share some really enourmouse good tasing eggs.  Not to mention they provide great fertilizer as a bi-product.  Just something to consider.
