Thank you all for the clarifications on this issue, particularly Duke Alan.  I'm sure that it has put a lot of minds at rest.  I too was somewhat interested in this discussion.  The reasoning behind it all makes perfect sense to me and I agree having to put an indicator on a helmet is no bit deal.  

FYI, they do it in little league football (for a different reason) all the time. So, some parents and kids are sort of used to it... lol
