Well, the main difference between heralds and dogs is that one is a
flea-bitten, mangy cur who will savage you at a moments notice,
needing to be kept on a short leash and possibly even muzzled, while
the other will be your best friend for life in exchange for a good
biscuit and an ear scritching or two.
