Please cross post:
It is with deep regret and much sorrow that after getting permission from
Sven, I pass on that Duchess Kolfinna will lose her brave fight with H1N1
today, October 1st, 2009. We all feel a great loss but Kolfinna's family
asks that her friends refrain from coming up to the hospital. There will be a
memorial at Great Western War and there will be more information on that
and final arrangements posted on the website later

Thank you
Viscountess Lorissa du Griffin, OP
Chamberlain to TRMs Edward II & Mora II
King & Queen of Caid
I know many of you knew Kolfinna, and you would be interested in this.
Feeling the loss of another GREAT SCA-dian,
Das Issac

and let me know how many and what ages. I will pass this information along to
our Kingdom Youth Officer so she can plan accordingly.
?
Now,?a word from our incoming Baroness Lady Cenedra:
"Come throw down your gauntlet against other challengers who would protect
the moose herd as Baroness' Champion. No advance preparation required. All
materials will be provided. The Iron Moose Competition (think Iron Chef
with a twist) will test your creativity, accuracy and fortitude!"
All are welcome to?participate but the winner will be chosen from the

We will also be holding two Weird Weapons Tourneys?one for the heavy

LOL! I would have to say, "Me Too!" I'll be shearing my Icelandic flock
in
a few weeks. What kind of wool/sheep are you shearing?

Yup, you count as a teen -- not that I'm carding you at the door or
anything. ;)
So tell me what the lords & ladies your age up north want to learn & do.
I'm listening.

I love the idea of making an Artemisian A&S mini series! I'd volunteer
to be filmed teaching with a few very basic conditions and requirements. We
could get a Artemisian A&S facebook (or somewhere) and post the episodes
for free along with their class handouts. Perhaps when a reasonable time
elapses after the event? Arwen/Esther

A lot of folks are asking me lately about the Arwen/Esther and Arrowyn
thing. So I'll quickly try to clear this up.
Arwen is my mundane first name. I used Arwen de Redvers (registered
primary) from 1996-2001ish when I had a 14th C. English persona. I switched to
a late period Ottoman persona and changed my name to Esther bat Baruch
(registered secondary). There are people who know me better by Arwen, so I
sign as Arwen/Esther most of the time. I am only one person.
Her Grace, Duchess Arrowyn, is a totally different individual who lives in
Butte Montana, formerly known as Dun Braga or Eire Dun. She is willowy,
has very long blond hair with a shiny hat on top. Please make sure when you
are writing to an Arwen or Arrowyn that it goes to the right one! We get
each others mail on occasion.
My daughter Sarah looks a bit like me and we swap garb sometimes, so she
gets called me frequently. She fights rapier and has strawberry blond hair
and blue eyes. Mine are hazel and I have light brown (with some gray)
hair.
"Hey you" works too :)

When DO we want to do the Medieval Prom? Is Uprising the time? Or do we
want
to do it at a different time of the year? Arn Hold has a pretty nice
Masked
Ball in January that can be like a cotillion to act like Homecoming, or
should the Prom be Masked Ball and Uprising be Homecoming?

Are?there any teenagers besides Rat and Sarah?that have expressed interest
in this?? Is it really a Prom, or just a date for those two?
