I was chatting with Ariel and Robert this last weekend.  It was
inevitable that they asked how our business deal in Washington was
going.  As part of my answer I showed them my post on the grand
council list from a few weeks back which discusses specifically this
very subject.

After reading my early April GC post and looking at the website we
built, Ariel encouraged me to cross-post the discussion of our
business plans to the Aerie, mostly because we've been keeping a
really tight wrap on this; hardly any of our Artemisian friends know
what happened. But before you write us off as morally deficient,
please at least look at all of the post (pasted below) and all of the
website before passing judgement on me or Sean (aka El Hermoso
Dormiendo)

It is my intent to leave the GC so it's time to say good bye. I will
finish my work on the nomcom but intend to gafiate as soon as that is
done.

As several of you know, Sean and I spent much of 2010 trying to buy a
business at Mount Rainier. We were disappointed that the deal failed
since we made a significant investment of both time and cash to buy
it. It is very frustrating to have significant worth on paper, the
value of which is greater than the resort we wanted to buy, but to be
turned down for financing because of insufficient liquidity. So for
now, we have decided to drop the original acquistion plan in order to
put our backup business plan into effect.

The backup plan is built on the premise that vice is profitable.
Illegal drugs are very profitable but they also carry unacceptable
risks. But even legal recreational drugs and alcohol make money.
"Escort services" and the sale of "adult literature" are likewise
lucrative. We are not going to do anything which is illegal but that's
only because we are incorporating as an LLC in Nevada. Granted,
promoting sex and drugs really is immoral, but even if we dislike our
initial offerings of smut, our goal here is to make a lot of
greenbacks quickly and then get out. After that, we will have
sufficient working capital in place with which to convince a bank to
finance our original business acquisition plan.

Timing is critical here since we are close to exhausting our cash
liquidity. Because of this, I anticipate working full-time to launch
our "mature adult services" business before I have to sell any of my
assets to stay afloat. Though I have one more year of being a voting
member of the GC, I intend to step down as soon as new GC officers are
elected in May. Setting up the business is already using around 60
hours a week and I am just barely keeping my head above water on my GC
commitments. I have become too busy to continue on the GC at an
acceptible level of involvement. And I'm not comfortable taking up
space on the GC and doing nothing. I feel like I have really
accomplished something through my GC membership but now it's time to
move on.
