[Artemisia] newcomers

 Back in the day, 1000 years ago, when I was Hospitiliar in Amor Sallan Fach, later Loch Salann. I would give out "New Bees" badges. They were to start with, a little Bee  button sewn on to, black & white ribbons and a safety pin sewn on the back. Then later we would paint little bees on plain white buttons when we couldn't find the little bee buttons any more.  I would ask them to please wear these "New Bees Buttons" for 1 whole year. This I explained it was so that everyone would know that they were to help the new commers when they needed it. Most people loved to wear these ribbons for the whole year. It was like an award to them. And Baroness Farilith loved to hand them out in court. This way everyone knew who these people were. I would keep a log of these people and at the end of the year Baroness Farilith would call them up in court and ask them for their buttons back, as they were a year old now & didn't need them any more.
 This also gave me an on going idea of who needed to be included in things such as classes & guilds. It worked back then and is a good way to let the long time player, who wants to help, know who might need assistance.
  We should do this type of thing thru out the kingdom, that way where ever a new person goes they will be reconnaised as a new player!

 To their Majesties and the populace of Artemisia,

It appears that something was said to a member of a family who, when
their son had spent much of the afternoon at Sentinel’s Keep Harvest
Court watching the fighting, were invited to join us for dinner.

What was said is now irrelevant, but, they left upset without eating.

After some discussion last night at our weekly meeting;

I would like to suggest that a Kingdom wide system to indicate newcomers
be established:

*Using Black & Gold ribbons of between ¾ & one inch width for the
‘string’ on their site token.
This hopefully would be a highly visible indication that these people
are newcomers, welcome them, & they may well will not be familiar with
what we are doing.
Take the time to help them want to become one of us !*
