Greetings,
Your post brought up some very valid points, complete with examples about
some of the reasons we SCA folk interact the way we do. (In a nutshell,
human nature.) One of the key points repeated in your post was about the
danger of assumptions. It made me think of four principles that have
changed my life.

So, for what it's worth, I would like to share. This information is take
from The Four Agreements -- (a life changing book I highly recommend) The
four principles -- briefly outlined: 1) Be
impeccable with your word. Basically be honest with yourself, and along with
that if you say you will do something do it, and vice versa if you have said
you will not do something, then don't. 2)Don't assume. Living this principle
can circumvent many problems, and avoid misunderstandings in the first
place.
Ask questions, find out. 3)Don't take things personally. This is the hardest
one for me, but one of the most effective. When I realize that most things
people do/say, etc. are ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON, not me, it makes this easier
to do. Again, it keeps things in perspective and problems don't escalate. 4)
Always do your best. The key to this is that "your best" varies. Some days
you
best will be higher than other's, but as long as it is your best at that
point
in time, you will not have regrets over what you've done.

Hoping this added some "food for thought".
YIS, KyneWynn
