Thank you for the partial Court Report - I did note the Baronial hat on
Dame Varia and was curious as to when that was bestowed (no question it
is well deserved, just did not know the timing).

To answer the question on baronial hats, it is NOT tied to a couple it
is tied to individual achievement.
The only time a couple would get Court Baronage together would be when
they stepped down as Territorial Baron and Baroness - and that is not
automatic it is up to Their Majesties at each change over of coronet.

InterKingdom Anthropology ahead - be warned, this is Artemisia stuff,
not SCA wide.

There are two types of Court Barony. Former landed Baron and Baroness
types get a Court Barony, as stated above, at the end of a tenure if
Their Majesties wish to award such - usually done, but not always.

The other type of Court Barony is for those who Their Majesties want to
recognize as extra special and visible but other awards are somehow
deemed inappropriate - either they already have a peerage or other award
or the reason for the Court Barony does not fit a single award 'type' or
Their Majesties just think that everyone should know that said
individual is simply 'extra special' and want everyone else to know it.

Baroness Shauna
(of the second type)
