Subject: [EK] Great Northeastern University Returns!

Good Morning, All --

** Please forward this message to any list you feel might be
interested **

With just under two months to go before the nineteenth Great
Northeastern War (July 15-17, Hebron Maine), I would like to
invite all those with knowledge to share to volunteer to teach
one (or more!) classes at Great Northeastern University.

You can quickly and easily submit your class by using the form on
this page: http://www.gnewar.org/classform.html

For each of the past three years we have been lucky enough to
offer over 50 classes to the more than 1,000 guests who attend
Great Northeastern War from across the Knowne World. Our goal
this year is to offer more classes than ever before -- we're
shooting for 60 classes, but we cannot meet this goal without
your help!

Great Northeastern War is a great place to test out classes you
plan to teach at Pennsic. We welcome classes on all topics, and
we ample space available for classes of all types -- loud
classes, quiet classes, active classes, academic classes -- our
event attendees have a thirst for knowledge and virtually every
class ever offered at Great Northeastern War has been well
attended. You need not be a companion of the Order of the
Maunche or the Order of the Laurel to teach -- just have a
subject you are knowledgeable and passionate about!

Classes at GNE are typically scheduled on Friday
afternoon/evening, all day Saturday, and on Sunday morning. As
classes coordinator, I will be happy to work with you to schedule
your class at a time that best meets your schedule and does not
conflict with other activities you might wish to participate in.

Teaching and Attending Classes is also part of the Arts &
Sciences War Point at GNE. This year Great Northeastern War is a
friendly competition between Malagentia and our Friends in the
Barony of The Bridge. For each class taught, the teacher may
choose to earn five points towards the University war point, and
each person who attends a class and signs the attendance sheet
earns one point towards the University war point. The side with
the highest point total wins the point.

While classes of all types are more than welcome, we have had a
number of requests for classes on the following topics:

-- Classes designed for kids ages 6 - 14 (our Children's Staff
may be available as teaching assistants for these classes -
contact me at waxtablet at gmail.com for details)

-- Classes on Combat Related topics, including hands-on classes
on fighting techniques.

-- Classes related to Archery

-- Classes appropriate for those who might be new to the SCA

-- Classes on period food and cookery.

Thank you for making it to the end of this long email!

If you have questions, please feel free to contact me at
waxtablet at gmail.com, and I will try to help in whatever way I
can.

We look forward to seeing you at Great Northeastern War!

Yours, humbly, in service,

Mistress Anastasia Gutane
Classes Coordinator, GNE War XIX
