Dear members of Web4Ren,
at URL
http://mdz2.bib-bvb.de/~emblem/emblmaske.html
you find a search interface to a database
providing access to information about and
scans from a rather great number of nowadays
less popular emblemata books.
As the search interface is in German:
here are some tentative translations that
might make using it easier:
Autor = Author (you guessed that one, didn't
you?)
Titel = Title (as above ...)
Kuenstler = Artist
Verleger/Drucker = Publisher/Printer
Verlags/Druckort = Place of publication
Bildmotiv = Subject of illustration
Bel. Begriff im Motto = freetext search on the motto
Bibelstelle = Place in the bible
Tag = Day
Person = Person
Bedeutung = freetext search in the authors'
commentaries
Additional information (in German) on how to
use the database is at URL
http://mdz2.bib-bvb.de/~emblem/emblhilfe.html
A list of the books can bee found at URL
http://mdz2.bib-bvb.de/~emblem/dig-cpl.html
.
And there is a Munich university press
release concerning this project and database
(in German) at URL
http://www.uni-muenchen.de/lmu-32006100/htdocs/p_details.cfm?news_id=975
